Bud Light and Hair Driers

Halloween is my all time FAVORITE holiday. It's my favorite season of the year with all the beautiful leaves and the start of sweaters & jeans. And then we have Halloween. You get to do all sorts of spooky magical things AND play dress up. (My favorite game)

This Halloween, I am dressing up as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She's always been my favorite Disney princess, so I decided to go all out. I bought the cutest Mermaid costume and got my nails done to match. My final touch was dying my hair red to really get the Ariel look.

After my mom applied the color I went upstairs, beer in hand, to plug myself into the wall for 45 minutes with the hair drier to intensify the color. My mom thought it was pretty funny and took a picture...I figured, before she could use it as blackmail, I'd just show it to the world...

Super Sonic Friends

Last Friday Kim, Jade & I left work to go cash our paychecks. On our way back, we decided to stop at Sonic to grab some lunch before going back into the office. When we had all decided on what we wanted, I being in the driver's seat, turned to push the button to order.

Kim's blonde hair must have been rubbing off, because I sat there for almost a full minute trying to figure out which button to push...my finger was hovering over the green "Enter" button on the credit card key pad when Kim goes,

"What are you doing?"

"I don't know which button to push to order."

She rolled her eyes and pointing to the HUGE red button on the left she quotes, "PRESS TO ORDER".

I'm blaming this on lack of sleep and nutrition.
Of course it could just be that I'm slightly mentally handicapped. In which case I'll blame on the fact that I spend the majority of my time in an office full of guys.
All that testosterone fries my brain and I start acting like them.

Proof that they're taking over the world

Is it Love?

Have you ever had such a strong connection with someone that just looking into their eyes can make you dizzy? And when they kiss you, it feels like....tangible electricity. All hot and prickly, like a static shock, shooting from your lips down through your entire body raising goosebumps in it's wake. So intense that it takes a lot to keep yourself from crying. Your skin feels like it might explode off your body into a million little pieces burning bright enough to rival the stars.
And just holding them, breathing them in, is like a drug. You have to focus all of your energy just to keep your soul from leaving your body. You lose track of time, all of yourself completely absorbed in them.
This connection, this chemistry is unearthly. Fiery passion devours you. So powerful that you meld into one single being. All movement and breath together, in sync, as one.

Is this love? I have this with someone....and it scares me. It's wonderful and exciting, I just fear that they might not feel the same way....but I suppose that's what makes life worth living. Being able to experience the thrill of what I'm guessing is love.

Is it love? I don't know. But I'm definitely ready to find out.

Chocolate

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...chocolate is easily one of the best things in the world.

I've been having not the greatest day, and just popped a Mint Meltaway into my mouth. I feel much better now. Funny how that happens.

Now if only we could find a way to make the best things in life calorie-free...

Just when we thought Crocs couldn't get any uglier....

Rhinestones and laces....I definitely think I need a pair of both....
Not.

Note to self: Do not drink from Laundromat drinking fountain

Laundry

I recently discovered that I could open my own consignment store if I wanted to...

We finally decided to clean my room on Sunday night because it's in the basement and we now have mice. I haven't lived in my room for 2 years now and it hasn't been clean for about the last year. I would chuck my clean laundry on the bed or my chair and only go in to pick out clothes to wear. Well, now that we have mice, I had to get my room cleaned and I decided to wash ALL my clothes. I wasn't taking ANY chances. So, Sunday night we went down and bagged all of my clothes....Monday night and 18 garbage bags later, we took a trip to the laundromat.
It was quite an adventure. I'd never been to a laundromat before (I know how that sounds, but it's true) so, I thought I'd document the event. We ended up doing laundry for almost 8 hours. It started out fun at first...making Jonah push me around in the baskets, and getting soap all over the place, but by 4:30AM I was ready to put a bullet through my head.

I am glad we got it done though...I've got thousands of cute outfits to wear. It's like I went shopping, only I didn't even have to spend any money!
But I think I'll just keep my room clean from now on.

Duh....

I was talking to Gabby at work today and fingering the neckline of my shirt when I discovered I had it on backwards. I've had this shirt for 4 years and have apparently, been wearing it backwards the whole time. I always put it on so the "V" was in the front, but today I found the tag right inside the "V". I felt pretty stupid for a second, but when I turned it around, I found that I really prefer it the way I had it in the first place.

Maybe I'll start a new trend.

Flashback

I've been meaning to write about my day on Wednesday, but I've been working way too much and am thoroughly exhausted by the time I get home.

My little sister is following my footsteps and is in Drama in High School. (yes, I was a "Drama Nerd") Every year they do a semester of Shakespeare and perform in the High School Shakespeare competition in Cedar City during the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Malt ball wanted me to come with them, but there was no way I could take 3 days off work right now, so I went to Brighton on Wednesday to watch her perform for the school. She did a very good job, by the way. I was very proud of her.

Being back in that building made me realize something....I really don't miss it!! None of it. The cliques, the smell, the lighting, the desks. Not any of it. And I REALLY don't miss all the weird kids and the general behavior of everyone there.

All the girls running up and hugging each other between every single class, "Oh my God I love you! I haven't seen you for like a half an hour!" And the guys poking and pulling hair and calling names....I just wasn't made for High School. That's probably why I never fit in. Never had a set group of friends. In fact, I never had very many "Friends" at all. Sure I had quite a few people that would say "hi" in the hallways, but I only really had 2 very good friends all throughout High School. I was never accepted by the "popular" crowd and didn't fit in with the "Nerds" either. As a result, I wasn't very involved in school at all. I came in the morning, went to my classes, talked to my teachers and went home in the afternoon. Never got asked to any of the dances which, at the time, was devastating. Looking back on it all, I really don't think I missed out on much.

The only thing I ever really became involved with in school was Drama my Sophomore and Junior years, and then Art during my Senior year. The arts were my release. I thought I'd stay in Drama forever....I LOVE to perform. It's my high of choice, being up onstage in front of a huge audience. There's nothing like it in the world. But even in Drama I didn't quite fit in. There's so much well...drama. All the girls were so catty and there was constant competition for the attention of our director. I finally had to give up acting in school because I simply couldn't handle the people anymore. That's when I switched to Art. I discovered the last few Weeks of my Junior year that I have a talent for art. Drawing, painting, all of it. By the time Senior year was halfway through, I had made a habit of skipping out all of my other classes just to stay in the studio all day and paint. That, I suppose, is the only thing I miss. None of the stupid stereotypical High School shit.
This flashback of what life used to be like for me has also made me realize that I'm the happiest I've ever been with myself. Even if I'm not the most popular girl around.

Food for Thought...

I went to Starbucks this morning and got a fantastic Pumpkin Spice Latte with 4 shots of espresso...it was divine. Aside from great coffee, Starbucks cups have quotes on them and I'm a word fanatic. Today's was particularly good in my opinion, so I thought I'd share.

That's how Faeries are made...

Yesterday, my mom, malt ball and I took a drive up the canyon. With Coke Slurpees, Cool Ranch Doritos and a camera, we set off into the mountains. We were only going to go a short way up to take some pictures with the leaves, but we ended up embarking on a 3 and a half hour adventure up Big Cottonwood Canyon and all the way down through Heber and Park City. We had a blast. Listening to old Irish drinking songs, practicing three point turns on steep dirt roads, and stopping at random spots to take pictures with the changing leaves.
My absolute favorite though is the picture to your right... Despite the fact that it looks like I'm humping this tree, I was really just trying for a sexy pose....and failing miserably. As I mentioned before, we didn't plan on going very far up the canyon. I was thinking paved roads, sidewalks and bridges. So I dressed accordingly, not bothering to change out of my boots with heels. When my mom wanted to take pictures of Jessie and I in this grove of trees, I quickly found out that heels and soft, moist mountain dirt, are definitely not a match made in heaven.
My goal for this picture was to have one leg wrapped seductively around the back of the tree. That obviously, didn't work out quite the way I planned. I started sinking, and in an attempt to keep myself from falling on my ass in the mud, I wrapped both legs around the trunk. My mom informed me that I looked like I was humping the tree and I started laughing so hard it was all I could do to hold on.
When we got home later that night my brother Alex commented that I took being a hippie seriously, skipping the tree hugging and going straight for the humping. I assured him that I was just practicing making tree faeries.

Home Life

As much as I'm itching to move out, there are definitely some perks to living at home. No bills, a driveway, and good food. My mom is a great cook and has a compulsive need to coddle and serve people. Which makes for great dinners and a chance to be free of responsibility. Even if it's just every once in a while, it's a nice change from the stresses of everyday life. She lets me just be a kid when I need it and it's wonderful. She even still cuts my chicken for me and when we have soup, she puts it in my favorite Little Mermaid bowl that I've had since I was 4 years old. And last week when I was sick and had the worst cramps in the world, she made me Sleepy Time tea, got me lots of chocolate ice cream, a heating pad, and Midol.

We occasionally have our differences, but my mom's the greatest. And my best friend in the world.

Just a sidenote...

I was informed today that after Ben & I left Jade's house on Saturday night, her friend Wayne was asking where Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck went. I found it amusing and informed Ben that we'd make a cute Hollywood couple.
Minus the sappy love songs.

Chocolate Fix

Chocolate, I find, is the most wonderful idea anybody ever had. It comes in many different forms, can be eaten any time of the day, and always puts a smile on my face no matter how pissy of a mood I'm in.

I was flipping through this month's issue of Cosmo, and happened to come across a recipe for brownies. Brownies are a favorite treat in our house, and these ones looked so good I just had to make them. So, I went out and bought all the ingredients; soon realizing that these are possibly the most fattening brownies in the world. But I suppose most good things in life are. Either way, I got everything I needed and went home to start baking. This recipe calls for 14 oz. of dark chocolate which you have to break into small pieces to melt in a bowl with 2 and 1/2 cups of butter. I recruited my sister to help break the chocolate with me, thinking it was the best way to get her to help because she's a chocolate fiend. Bad idea. She kept stealing chunks of chocolate and nibbling on them, strongly resembling a little mouse. Fortunately, her boyfriend came over and she became consumed with him long enough to allow me to carry on with the brownies. Which, turned out to be the most incredible brownies I've ever had. All gooey, chocolatey goodness.

Better than a boyfriend any day.

Late Night Lovin'

Last night I drug Ben out to Lehi with me to see my fried Jade's new house. (Yes Sarah, I made sure he wasn't wearing his extensions before I would agree to pick him up.) We hung out for a bit at Jade's and on the way back to Salt Lake, I decided to stop for gas. We went to the 7-11 right off the freeway on 12300S. I went inside to pre-pay, and was picked up on by the guy at the counter. After staring at my I.D. for a minute, he looked up at me and asked,
"Do you mind if I ask if you're available?"
"Haha...actually, my boyfriend's in the car." (Lying through my teeth...)
"Well, we know he's definitely got good taste...too bad though."

Too bad for you I guess....thank God for Ben. This guy seemed creepy enough to have followed me out to my car had I been alone. After telling him about the guy inside, Ben laughed and after a minute he said, "You know Candace? You totally seem like the kind of girl who goes after late shift 7-11 dudes."
Great. That's exactly the look I'm going for.

The Ultimate Gift

I just finished watching this movie and it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend it. That's saying something too; I'm an extreme critic when it comes to acting. This movie has a great story and a wonderful message. And if you're a sissy like me, it'll have you in tears at least a couple of times.Oh and the cherry on top is getting to watch Drew Fuller on screen for over an hour. And what a mighty fine cherry he is....I'll bet he even tastes good too! I'd definitely eat him up!

Candy Ass

I've come to the conclusion that my ass has a mind of it's own. She's my super sexy alter ego, who's rightfully earned my nickname Candy.

Candy is a bit of a show off. When she's feeling particularly sexy, she makes sure the rest of the world appreciates her soft, mocha-toned self. Whether it's deciding to flash an entire traffic jam when I'm wearing thigh- high fishnets and a thong, or giving my co-worker a nice shot of pink frills just outside the bank. She especially likes to be seen in various silk or Lacy black Tangas. And just today, as I was leaving the office with Gabby to pick up lunch, she decided to say hello to the little Mexican guy working in the parking lot. She's over-confident and the biggest tease I've ever met. I think she sweet talks my clothes into dramatizing her show. She's very convincing too; always managing to get my skirts to flirt with Mr. Wind. I know what you're thinking, "It's not your ass showing off, it's the wind blowing your skirt up." But if that were the case, it would happen any time it was windy...and somehow this only happens when we're privy to an audience. And she's mastered the art of whispering sweet nothings into the seams of all my favorite jeans so she can peek out from underneath my left pocket and wink at her many admirers.
I have reason to believe my legs are in on the gig too, helping her out on stair wells by stepping on my long skirts pulling them down to let Candy say hello in her cute black thong. They seem to like attention too...I swear I heard them giggling yesterday at all the comments on my "school girl stockings". No matter how modest I try to be Candy is always screaming for attention...and she usually succeeds in getting it. No matter how embarrassed she makes me in the process. Maybe I should stop encouraging her behavior by buying her all sorts of cute, skimpy, alluring panties. But somehow, I think she'd still find a way to be seen. And if she must steal the show, she might as well be dressed to kill.

Just a bit of advice....

Electrical Testicles

One of the highlights of being Sarah's friend is the connection to her brother Ben. If you keep up on Sarah's blog, there's no reason to say any more. When Sarah set me up on a date with Ben last April (I'm guessing in one of her attempts to avoid the possibility of yet another
bitchy sister-in-law), I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Ben is crazy...and hilarious. And in spite of his fondness for sporting hideous hairstyles, he's not half bad. Yet, no matter how much time I spend with him, he never ceases to surprise me with some new ridiculously stupid behavior.
Sunday night I received the oh-so familiar text from him, "Whats you up to?" I responded with my usual, 'Not much how bout you?'
"Just shocking the shit out of myself with electricity. Now my balls hurt."
'Your balls hurt?'
"yea, when you shock yourself, it really hurts your balls"

Needless to say I was almost speechless. Almost. Aside from telling him to grow a brain and turn off ALL the electricity the next time he's rewiring a switch in his house, all I could do was laugh. Thanks Ben, for that tidbit of information. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
